New Year's Eve is the one night this season worth flipping the "gold and silver as an accent only" rule from the section above — an evening party carries more shine than a daytime family gathering. Full chrome on one hand or heavy glitter on 2-3 nails reads as celebratory, not over-the-top, under party or club lighting. The last week of December is the single busiest stretch of the whole year — if you specifically need 31 December, book by mid-month, don't leave it to the last days.
